54728XP Total for each Party Member - Level 9 (next level 71,000)

1000XP for roleplay.

1 Hero Point for Kul'theras for impromptu musical performance when The Hunted found themselves being celebrated as The Heroes Of Eastedge.

  • Kul'theras purchases a Composite Frost Bow and enlists an enchanter to add Bane to it, he doesn't have the time for it but the enchanter tells him he can try to do it faster though it increases the liklihood of failure. Kul'theras decides to throw the dice.
  • Sever asks if they managed to find out who Wyrick and company were supposed to deliver the note to? Though he's disappointed to hear that no information was uncovered he accepts it without complaint and takes the original note back as evidence. He thanks Magni for the suggestion of trying to track down the casters previously employed by the Raiders of the Eastern Seas, when someone recalls the notation "P - Chimera Cover" on the nautical charts. Sever then indicates that he feels this is likely and will get a party together to check it out.
  • Tharin asks for co-ordinates, telling Sever he wants to follow it up and travel to Chimera Cove himself. The party adjourns for a discussion about Tharin signing The Hunted up for work without checking with them. They eventually agree to accompany him, and Tharin also reveals a fair bit about his past in Buckie.
  • Sever agrees that they can use the newly-named ResTitution and select their own crew and captain for the journey. When Wyrick is mentioned he does state that his service to Madrill would be taken into account if he can be found.
  • Tharin leaves to go shopping for Scroll of Sending as he wants to contact Wyrick and offer him a job.

Planning

The Hand of Kali will disguise herself as the requested priest (including mask, robe and holy symbol). The others will attempt to pass themselves off as the requested troops.

Preparation

  • Magni shops for equipment and Tharin has not yet returned. Landra, the Hand of Kali and Kul'theras go to speak to Brelt Reys and make a gift of the nautical-themed half-plate they found in the caves. Reys is tickled pink and promises to refer several excellent choices for Captain to them and join them later for a drink. He suggests they try The Salty Shag for their general sailors.
  • On arriving at The Salty Shag, Tharin seeks to direct the crowd's attentions towards his companions as those who brought The Bitch's Tits in to dock and as he's waiting for the cheers to die down so he can drum up enthusiasm to sign on board a bard breaks into The Heroes Of Eastedge. This adds to the desired effect.
  • Landra is put in charge of hiring, and has her pick so decides to get the best 20 crew as she judges them, including a quartermaster to lay on provisions who performs her duties with professional alacrity, taking a 500gp budget given to her to equip the ship and the sailors with decent arms.
  • Tharin addresses the crew, tells them Captain Sanado has full authority, overridden by nobody. The Captain puts them to work.
  • While walking back to The Salty Shag, Tharin and Landra discuss his comfort and feeling of belonging on the sea and that Tharin might one day wish to take on the profession of sailing. Landra admits that she doesn't have much of a feeling of belonging anywhere. Tharin suggests that Landra might enjoy cannons on ships, but doesn't illicit much of a response.
  • Magni stabs Tharin in the leg with a dagger and roars at him, telling him to never lie to him again or he'll gut him and hang him from the rigging. Tharin gasps "Thank you for being lenient." to Magni's retreating back and extracts the dagger and healing himself. Landra points out this is an example of making decisions for the group. "Duly noted." acknowledges Tharin.
