4600XP each making 68188XP Total for each Party Member - Level 9 (next level 71,000)

1 Hero Point spent by Landra to improve her Perception check when trying to spot an invisible Vintresk.

On seeing that Kul'theras is now awake, Landra and the Hand of Kali both resume their retreat from the enraged elemental. Magni suddenly surfaces from the water flanked by two small Water Elementals, one of which reveals itself to be Tharin Longview and addresses the hulking assailant in Aquan in an attempt to parley. Having apparently failed, he levitates upward and joins in the barrage of attacks. Kul'theras attempts several shots but in his recently resuscitated state he lands only few of them. Wyrick stands back, bracing his Boarding Pike against a potential charge by the creature when Kul'theras and the Hand of Kali retreat.

Before Kul'theras can retreat further and tend to the wounds of the party, the vengeful mass of water lunges forward, attacking and almost knocking him unconscious again. The Hand of Kali is in a better state to weather the blows but is still surprised by their ferocity as the elf leaves the corridor.

Meanwhile, Vintresk had been lurking invisibly in the water trying to hide from Tharin Longview and Magni and gather her strength, but as everyone was relatively distracted by the Water Elemental she has begun angling to make the most of her opportunity to attack. Landra has been growing more and more suspicious on being told that she had disappeared, so begins scanning the water for movement, spotting a disturbance but missing the shot. The cavern is still echoing with the gunshot when she comes lunging out of the water, reaching for Kul'theras with a clawed and withered hand, eyes burning hatefully as she casts a spell.

Kul'theras finds himself suddenly, magically blinded. So he’s got that goin’ for him, which is nice.

As the ranger cries out in shock, Wyrick charges Vintresk, managing to impale her on his Boarding Pike before yanking it out, leaving her floating face-down in the water, dead. The others finally finished off the Water Elemental, which they later realized was the likely cause of the complex beginning to display stress fractures under the pressure of all the water suddenly trying to get in. When Wyrick turned to Kul'theras to try to help him the elf told him that he was mistaken, and he could actually see just fine now. Despite not quite managing to look directly at Wyrick he actually convinced him, though not Landra.

Kul'theras dug out the wand of Cure Light Wounds and healed people up from where he sat, only admitting that he was in fact blind when it came time to move on. Wyrick immediately offered him a shoulder and offered to guide him back to the village, which Kul'theras graciously accepted, casting light so that Wyrick could see.

As the rest of the party re-entered Fluxhold, Pelastour appeared to tell them that with the Water Elemental no longer in control, the Oubliette was rapidly filling with water as is the whole facility and urged them to get to the Oubliette; the control amulet which is their last chance to prevent the Terraken escaping (by taking direct control of it and making it stay) is at the bottom. They told him Poltur was still alive as far as they’re aware and asked him if he knew where his grandson was, he didn’t and disappeared as if to look for him.

It was decided that Tharin and Hand of Kali would head to the Oubliette to try to get the amulet (past the corpse of the snake) while Landra and Magni went after Poltur via the passage they saw him disappear down (directly opposite).

INSERT CHASE OF POLTUR AND OUBLIETTE OUTCOME HERE

  • Session ended with Pelastour confronting Tharin Longview incredulous that he appears to be releasing the Terraken from its prison. Tharin responded "Fuck you." but session ended before any further conversation could be pursued.
