Loot That Body

The party searches the deceased goblins, finding the following:

The "Golden Goblin" (presumably a cavalier) has a +1 Spiked Chain and +1 Chain Shirt along with a Mastwork Longsword, all of which are sized for small creatures. His Raptor also has reasonably effective barding.

The remaining goblins each have Masterwork Breastplates and either Masterwork Glaives or Masterwork Shortbows. Their mounts are equipped with barding also.

Tyrus lays the goblins out nicely says a few words about the deceased goblins with what little he knows of goblin religion but mostly focusing on their ill-fortune, laying silver pieces on the eyes of the goblins.

Tents have packs that would suit the raptors, which contain the following.

  • Potion of Haste
  • Potion of Shillelagh
  • Masterwork Heavy Steel Shield
  • Masterwork Ranseur
  • Scroll (unknown spell)
  • 100GP worth of gemstones (Tyrus thinks). One of the gemstones is a sandstone pebble with an engraving in it which is revealed to be a Feather Token (fan) on closer inspection.
  • 6 PP
  • 199 GP
  • 420 SP
  • 1100 CP

The Tower

They pack up everything reasonable to take and resume their trip to the tower, soon the great old goblin tower of Dan Moreld stands before them in an incredible state of disrepair.

Amongst the rubble at the base of the tower are quite a few medium creature bones. These bones appear to belong to a variety of local animals including some who are generally predators.

Obankot starts just walking up the side of the tower as Tyrus casts Deathwatch. The bones are most definitely dead. Which is nice. Tyrus calls after Obankot asking what he's doing and Obankot says he's heading to the top of the tower.

Brannock says he's a dummy, Tyrus agrees but thinks they should try to cover him and draws his crossbow.

The further Obankot climbs the more decrepit the tower gets. Towards the top there are vast holes in the walls. Obankot looks into a few corridors in the same un-hewn stone construction as the base of the tower.

About 30 feet from the highest point of the tower Obankot hears a noise like flesh against stone briefly above the sound of the wind.

Obankot creeps closer slowly and carefully closer to the top of the tower taking special care to avoid attention. He peeks over the top of the chunk of wall and is met with an uncomfortably close draconic visage which appears to be perched on the ledge directly in front of the place where the luckless elf has decided to peek.

He sees a second Wyvern further back taking to the air as the closer beast screeches at him and mauls him.

Obankot heads down to a hole that looks like it is small enough that the Wyvern might not be able to follow and disturbs yet another Wyvern which pokes it's head out and glares menacingly at the elf before pulling it's head back in.

The initial attacker launches itself into the air and dives after the fleeing elf, tearing his delicious flesh.

The Dangers Of Fighting Wyverns

Tyrus tries to cast Earthbind on the Wyverns. It doesn't take.

Lots of poisoning. CON damage eventually takes Obankot down to 2 CON. Tyrus delays his action to cast Restoration on Obankot if he can get contact with the elf.

Bhetsy snaps at one Wyvern as it passes slashing Mammut, then lunges at the other as it perches on the rubble above her.

Brannock launches himself at the Wyvern slashing wildly but misses.

Obankot runs across the wall and then down towards Tyrus, stopping 10 feet above the cleric, who extends his glowing hands and says "Trust in Nephe."

The elf allows himself to fall. Restoration restores all CON just before the fall damage takes him to -2 Health Points.
