RAW NOTES

Tuning In

A Strong aura of Transmutation is emitting from the wall mounted gilden mirror which is across from the vanity which has its own smaller mirror and next to that is a faceless wooden mannequin.

Pavel checks for traps and finds nothing of that type, however it does seem to be giving off a low hum or resonance.

Delg looks impatient and walks over to the mirror and knocks on the mirror, the mirror becomes a window of sorts. They see a human guy type person thing with sort of like standard sort of 5'10 6'ish mid-20's tawny skin, brown hair, big ol' hat. He has a mace and a big ol' book with a symbol looking like a stylised sunrise with a road heading towards it. He is standing in a stone-walled room, facing away from the mirror and turns to face it as if hearing the knocking.

Pavel draws his rapier and

WHat are you doing in here?

I've been in here about 6 hours or so... it's been a bit uncomfortable.

Sardalis asks "Were you trapped by these people?"

"I don't know who these people are, I was just doing my own thing and then found myself here."

"Where were you before you got here?"

"I was just kind of doing my own thing... Who are you anyway?"

He explains that he's from the Church of Lathander and has heard that Borovia is in some trouble... he heard a voice in his head that he needed to go to Borovia and the next thing he knew he was in that room.

The human touches the mirror and suddenly with a blinding flash of light Lekki and Delg have switched places.

Delg starts demanding freedom.

Ismark comes in muttering and cursing and greets them and the new stranger.

Pavel makes introductions and they learn that the newcomer's name is Lekki.

Lekki discretely asks Sardalis if he is being mistreated by the others, and Sardalis takes this the wrong way.

Ismark explains the Strahd rules over Borovia, and makes a pretty pessimistic statement about the chances of fixing anything.

Sardalis announces that he has figured out that this mirror seems to be out of charge of some kind. It may recover over time, or it may _need_ something. Pavel asks if it's safe to try to move it, and Sardalis responds by starting to lift it though he has to abort the attempt. He and Ismark manage to heave it together, and they make their way slowly out of the servants entrance. Sardalis accepts an offer of some duck à l'orange.

Cultists & Curfews

They notice Cultists who stop them and ask why they are out after curfew. They advise that Lady Fiona Wachter is in charge now.

They drop a bunch of exposition for Lekki about Argynvostholt, Dusk Elves, missing wine shipments, Jim the tiger owner, possibly other Madam Eva stuff etc.

Morning & Trust Broken

Lekki is missing. They go looking for him a fair bit and start to get worried, then Lekki returns to the inn. Lekki has been out checking their story about Strahd being bad etc. They also reveal that they are actually a Tiefling.

Must have some kind of ability to disguise self pretty much at will. They demonstrate this by taking the form of Delg.

They agree that Lekki will wear Delg's form for their meeting with Lady Fiona Wachter.

An Audience with Lady Fiona Wachter

This house seems disgusted with itself. A slouching roof hangs heavy over furrowed gables, and moss-covered walls sag and bulge under the weight of the vegetation. As you study the house’s sullen countenance, you hear the edifice actually groan. Only then do you realize the extent to which the house hates what it has become.

Here three elegant couches surround an oval table made of black glass. All are set in front of a blazing hearth, above which hangs the portrait of a smirking nobleman sporting a broken nose and a tangle of hair graying at the temples. Several smaller portraits hang on the north wall.

Lady Wachter greets them jovially and wants to get to know them better and wants to know what drove them to do what is clearly a good thing.

She asks what they think of Borovia, and Sardalis advises (paraphrased) "The common folk seem quite unable to help themselves, and it is the duty of those better placed to help them."

After becoming convinced that they are willing to Make Borovia Great Again she presents Sardalis with a letter bearing Strahd's seal. It read:

"Dear Friends,

Know that it is I who have brought you to this land, my developing utopia. I alone will make all of you wildest dreams come true.. I bid you dine at my castle so that we can meet in civilised surroundings. Your passage here will be a safe one. I await your arrival."
