Mount Thuun

Mount Thuun is a great peak in a small mountain range. A tribe of dwarves is known to dwell atop it, but are fiercely territorial. Travellers in the area oft report attacks by goblins and sometimes giants, raiding them for their goods. The Dwarves will happily trade with those who venture to the foot of the mountain and pay fair coin for goods brought to them.

Occasionally a trader or traveller will report the sounds of thunder coming from the mountain, even on a clear day when there is no storm clouds about. This is normally dismissed as the ramblings of the mad or the drunk, but some take the rumors to heart and gossip on the idea. Perhaps it is the hammers of the giants clashing with the Dwarves? Or the Dwarven hammers ringing in their forges as they arm and army ready to conquer far and wide? Perhaps it is the mountain itself, murmuring like thunder as it slowly raises from it's long slumber?

None who've tried to investigate have ever returned successful. Those who do return, report a rude welcome from the Dwarves who turned them back with stern warnings. Only the Dwarves themselves seem to know the secret of the mountain and they're not sharing.
