Send This Letter on to Five Friends

After reading the infomation contained in the letter to Jegan Kayal, The Hunted try to decide how to act on it. Landra is in favour of acting immediately while the unknown foe remains potentially unaware of Kayal's demise, by traveling to Diamondgate. Magni and Kul'theras are in agreement, Tharin instead argues for first trying to find information on the unknown party. Although this is not in favour, the party does agree to try to keep a low profile IN Diamondgate while they search. The party researches what they can in Madril (not much) and are preparing to travel when an aide of Sever Oeaga Treandra approaches them, informing that the magistrates wishes to speak with them.

Offer of Deputation

The Hunted (minus the Hand of Kali) have their services requested by the magistrate - the coastal town of Eastedge seems to be in some trouble and some investigation and possibly protection from The Hunted is requested (though by no means demanded). However, neither is a reward offered [I missed a bit here, and there might have been some more infomation. My bad - Sarge]. Tharin is happy to act to reduce his perceived debt to the city, as is Landra - who also suggests that simply because a reward was not offered, doesn't mean there won't be one. Magni and Kul'theras do not feel in debt, but regardless also agree to help, as does the Hand - albeit with a little confusion about why they would agree with no reward OR threat offered. The party interrupts their plans for Diamondgate and head mounted to Eastedge.

Two Massacres at Eastedge

When the Hunted get close to the town, sometime after sundown, they notice a red glow in the sky above their destination. They opt to move in slowly, with Kul'theras and the Hand remaining hidden. Reaching the town edge reveals the glow to be originating from the far side of the apparently deserted town, with some smoke emitting from a few buildings. Landra (spending a hero point) recognises the scene as being the result of a marauding, dispenses with caution and prepares for combat, moving around the town. Splitting into two, the Hunted come upon an unsuspecting party of the supposed raiders, well equipped and armed, standing passively around a burning building. With intent to "return the favour", the hunted ambushes the raiders, downing three of the combatants before they can react. Melee battle is joined with the three remaining enemies (one caster emerging from a building) - some heavy hits are received by the Hunted, but their foes were doomed at that point to failure - the caster is able to place some unknown spell on the Hand before being essentially disintegrated by two critical hits from Kul'theras - costing AND gaining one hero point for him.
