Little is known of these creatures, but two so far have been encountered by The Hunted. All so far have had the following features in common - they are shadowy, large, unreal-looking creatures with an unnatural "stop-motion" way of moving and the ability to put their surroundings in some kind of darkness. In place of a face each has had a strange glowing green eye.

The The Wandering Star assailant was a large bestial creature that seemed to be ethereal, and could rend through even the toughest armour and meat shields in a single attack. It was not killed by hand, but incapacitated when the airship went down, and presumably was destroyed in the crash.

The Osont assailant was also large, but humanoid looking and not ethereal (apparently). It was wrapped in slashing chains it used to attack, and could instil terror in its foes. This one was eventually destroyed by The Hunted.
